Scholarship Application Form

GIA SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

  • Applicants are encouraged to submit GIA Admission application
  • Applicants create a scholarship account using their e-mail address and password (this email cannot be changed once the application has been started)
  • Applicants applying to Taiwan campus, must complete GIA Scholarship application in "Chinese"
  • Only one GIA scholarship application can be submitted during the application period
  • Scholarship applications will not be accepted after application period closes
  • Applicants are urged to save application periodically; The system will not autosave the information and will be lost if the system times out
  • One reference letter is required; and a maximum of two total documents
  • Second document may include; a portfolio of design work, awards/honors earned, news/trade articles, a personal statement, or an additional letter of reference
  • Letter of reference must be written in English or accompanied by an English-language translation
  • All letters of reference must be current, address GIA scholarship and courses/programs selected in the application
  • Letter of reference must include writers name, contact information and signed
  • The letter of reference writer cannot be a relative, or family member, or current GIA employee

Reference Letter and Additional Documentation

One reference letter is required; and a maximum of two total documents.

Do not submit handwritten documents, resume, cover letter or scans of social media pages i.e. (Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter). These types of documents will be rejected.

  • Letter of reference must be current (within 12 months), and address GIA Scholarship, and the courses/programs selected in the application

  • Letter of reference must include writers name and contact information

  • Reference letter should include information on who you are, your connection with the person writing the reference letter, why you are qualified, and specific skills you may have

  • The letter reference writer cannot be a relative, or family member, or current GIA employee

  • Optional second document for additional documentation can include: a portfolio, awards/ honors earned, news/trade articles, additional reference letter and or a personal statement

  • Acceptable file formats are word, pdf, JPEG, jpg, or documents

  • Not acceptable file formats are odt, rtf, txt, and zip folders. These files will not be accepted.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD NOTIFICATION

I acknowledge that I have read and understand the admissions requirements as stated here and in the GIA Education Catalog. If I receive a scholarship, I understand I will be required to submit a completed Enrollment Application, including all required documents.
 

Scholarship Funds: Terms of Use

GIA Scholarship funds can only apply to tuition. Scholarship funds CANNOT be used towards book and materials, equipment, shipping, travel, housing, meals, taxes, visas or miscellaneous expenses. Funds can only apply to student tuition account. Scholarship award must be used by December 1st every year. Any unused scholarship award is returned to GIA scholarship fund. I certify that I understand these terms of use if I am awarded this scholarship.

    If I am awarded a scholarship, I agree to release my name, city/state/country, photograph, and the award name and amount for publication by GIA.
    If I am awarded a scholarship, I do not agree to release my name, city/state/country, photograph, and the award name and amount for publication by GIA.
